The Virginia Tech Underwater Glider, designed, fabricated and field tested by Artur Wolek while working as a doctoral student under the guidance of Craig Woolsey. Wolek's dissertation research, sponsored by ONR, focused on the development and validation of path planning algorithms for underwater gliders operating in shallow water and significant currents. In 2015, Dr. Wolek accepted a Postdoctoral Research Fellowship with the Naval Research Lab.
